Domremy is in central Saskatchewan, on Highway 320 near Highways 2 and 225, in the Rural Municipality of St. Louis No. 431. A post office was operating here as early as May 1, 1896, when the area was part of the District of Saskatchewan in the North-West Territories.
The community takes its name from the French village of Domrémy, the birthplace of Joan of Arc. Domremy held village status until December 31, 2006, and is now a special service area within the rural municipality.
Stan Hovdebo, who lived here from 1979 to 1993, is among its notable residents. The Domremy Historical Society published a 710-page local history in 1995, Harvest of Memories, 1895-1995.
